NAMI Virginia (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is offering its Family to Family Program in September. This program consists of 12 classes for persons who care for or are related to individuals with Mental Illness. Check out the flyer below for more information!

Volunteer Opportunities at the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic!
The Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic is currently looking for volunteers in the following areas:
- Medical front office (weekly position – either Monday or Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
- Office assistants (weekly position – positions available on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday mornings, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
- Front desk screening assistant (weekly position – Wednesday morning 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Training is provided for all positions and volunteers do not need to have a medical background! The Clinic is a great place to volunteer! Please contact Janet Gomez at 804-210-1368, option #5, or e-mail at janet@gmfc.hrcoxmail.com.
Blood Drive – Riverside Walter Reed
Riverside Walter Reed is having a blood drive on the 17th of August. There are huge shortages related to the risk of Zika virus and some collection points have been closed down, so please consider donating if you’re able to! All types are needed and all donors will receive a $5 Amazon gift card!
Laurel Shelter Volunteer Training Orientation
The Laurel Shelter, Inc. is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Volunteer opportunities include: childcare, transporting clients, client advocacy, crisis hotline support, administrative support, community awareness events, repairs and maintenance, resident mentor, fundraising help and more!
New Volunteer Training begins Tuesday, August 16th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are interested please complete a volunteer application which can be found on their website at www.laurelshelterinc.org and contact the Volunteer Services Coordinator at 804-694-5890 to register and secure your spot!
