CHILDREN FIRST PROGRAM – Co-Parenting Class

Children First is a 4-hour co-parenting education program designed to promote positive and healthy communication for families experiencing the challenges of transition through separation and/or divorce. The program assists parents in understanding the importance of an active, involved, and positive relationship with their children by minimizing parental conflict.

3. -MPNN CSB Prevention Services Office , 3786 George Washington Mem. Hwy., Hayes, Thursday, August 3, 2017 – 8:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M.

4. -MPNN CSB Gloucester Counseling Center, 9228 George Washington Mem. Hwy., Gloucester, Thursday, September 7, 2017– 4:00-8:00 P.M.

COST: $50.00 per person. Payment must be received seven (7) days prior to the scheduled class. No exceptions .

Laurel Shelter Volunteer Training

The Laurel Shelter, Inc., a Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Agency, is offering volunteer training to those willing to commit to at least four hours of volunteer service per month. Orientation and training begins on Monday, July 3, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Training will continue on 7/6, 7/10, 7/13, 7/17, 7/20, 7/24, 7/27.

Number of training hours depends on the position for which you would like to volunteer. Please call 804-694-5890 to register with the Volunteer Coordinator!

Lions Club Yard Sale!

On Saturday, June 24th, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, the Gloucester Lions Club will be hosting a yard sale located at Phillips Energy (2586 George Washington Memorial Highway) in Gloucester Point! Proceeds go towards helping those in our community with limited resources who are in need of vision screenings, eyeglasses, hearing aids, and vision or hearing related procedures. Brooms will also be available for purchase.

Come meet your local Lions, and come see what your Lions Club has to offer! Please also consider dropping off your no longer needed eyeglasses and hearing aids on Saturday, and we will happily accept donations of items to be sold at the yard sale. Hope to see you there!
