VIMS Beach Cleanup

The Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) is hosting a beach cleanup as their United Way Day of Caring project on Friday, September 15th. 20-30 volunteers are needed to assist with the cleanup efforts! A cookout lunch will be provided and participants are encouraged to bring their swimsuits to enjoy the beach and river afterwards. In addition to VIMS’ cookout, United Way is hosting a Day of Caring Kickoff Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Jamestown 4-H Club located at 3751 4-H Club Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185. All participants are invited but attendance it not required. Insight Enterprise Bowl-A-Thon

This year’s Bowl-A-Thon will be held on September 23rd at Spare Times Bowling Center, 1 Family Fun Place, Hampton, Virginia 23666 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m! The cost for each bowler will be $15.00 or $75.00 per team (a team consist of 5 individuals). Registration for individual and team participation must be submitted by Friday, September 15th. Trophies and awards will be presented for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. These awards will be presented at Insight Enterprise’s Annual Community and Consumer Awards Banquet in October 2017. Proceeds benefit Insight Enterprise, a non-profit that advocates for the integration and inclusion of people with disabilities into all aspects of society.
