Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

This is a 2-day workshop designed to teach the skills to competently and confidently intervene with a person at risk of suicide. The training will be held May 30th and 31st, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., in the Bay Aging Meeting Room located at 5959 Fiddlers Green Road in Gloucester. The training costs $50.00, and registration can be done online at this link

Lions Club Yard Sale

On Saturday, April 28th, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, the Gloucester Lions Club will be hosting a yard sale located at Phillips Energy (2586 George Washington Memorial Highway) in Gloucester Point! 100% of proceeds will go towards helping those in our community with limited resources who are in need of vision screenings, eyeglasses, hearing aids, and vision or hearing related procedures. Brooms will also be available for purchase.

Please also consider dropping off your no longer needed eyeglasses and hearing aids on Saturday, and the Lions Club will happily accept donations of items to be sold at the yard sale.

22nd Annual Samaritan Group Golf Tournament

The 22nd Annual Samaritan Group Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, May 19th at the beautiful Piankatank River Golf Club in Hartfield!
 
Players will check in beginning at 8:15 AM with a shotgun start scheduled at 9:00 AM. Fees are $70/player or $280 for a four person team. Fees and applications are due by May 11th.
 
Riding carts and lunch will be provided with your entry fee and there will be free coffee and donuts beginning at 8:00 AM, so plan to arrive early!
 
There will be cash prizes, a raffle, a 50/50 cash drawing and more! All the details can be found on the application, which you can download here!

Entry fees support the Samaritan Group as they continue to provide financial assistance for families in temporary need!

Celebrate Healthy Living Day 2018

The 6th Annual Celebrate Healthy Living Day Event will be held on Saturday, April 28th, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Woodville Park (3904 Woodville Park Rd., Hayes, VA)!
This event is sponsored by the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Healthy Community Action Team (HCAT), in partnership with the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board’s Prevention, Health and Wellness Division. It is made possible through grant funding from the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth.
The Celebrate Healthy Living Day is a FREE community event jam-packed with fun and healthy activities for families to enjoy together!
We are inviting all local vendors/business/exhibitors as partners to participate in this special occasion and to highlight health and wellness by offering samples, freebies, and/or services of healthy products and activities. There is NO COST to being a vendor!
