The 2018 Gloucester Arts Festival will host a juried art show, two small plein air events, and Gloucester’s Symphony Under the Stars free family concert!
The Opening Reception & Awards Presentation will take place June 1st, at 6:00 PM, at Arts on Main (6580-B Main Street in Gloucester). Along with the reception, the juried art show will also open at Arts on Main on June 1st and run through the month of June.
The following day, the Cook Foundation will be welcoming back the Virginia Symphony for the 12th year on Saturday, June 2nd at 8:00 PM for a free concert under the stars on Main Street. Many Main Street restaurants will be offering discounts to those dining ahead of the concert and food is also available on site (but feel free to bring along a picnic)!
Additionally, the two plein air events will take place on Saturday, June 2nd (The Symphony Nocturne Paint Out – 7:00-9:30 PM) and Sunday, June 3rd (Small Painting Sunday Paint Out – 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM). These plein air events are sponsored by Stewart Gallery.
