MPNN CSB Staff Teach Kids at Local Daycares about Staying Healthy

The MPNN CSB Prevention, Health and Wellness Division Staff are making it a priority to develop fun and creative ways to reach kids in our local daycare centers. Through a Healthy Virginia Action Team Grant (HCAT) from the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth (VFHY), their staff and community partners are teaching kids about eating healthy and making exercise a part of every day. Given the constraints of COVID-19 distancing, creativity has kicked into full gear. They are doing their educational presentations from outside the windows of the daycare centers, and the kids and teachers are loving it. The photo included here has a big “Thank You” from the Gloucester Learning Center. Other daycares they are working with include: Grand Kids Child Care and Learning Center, Creative Critters-West Point, Mt. Landing Children’s Center-Essex, Kiddie Korner-King & Queen, and Richmond County YMCA.
