The 2019 MP-NN Walk to End Alzheimer’s has returned to Gloucester Main Street!

Alzheimer’s Association – Memories in the Making

Image result for alzheimer's association memories in the makingArea residents with age-related memory concerns or mild cognitive impairment are invited to take part in “Memories in the Making”®, a program offering participants the opportunity to create their own watercolor paintings. Working with a trained facilitator, participants are encouraged to engage socially, to reminisce about meaningful life moments, individuals or personal interests while creating their painting. The program is offered in an emotionally safe environment that is both fun and designed to encourage communication between families, professional caregivers and persons with dementia. The program will be held April 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Gloucester County Library, 6920 Main Street, Gloucester VA. There is no charge for the program, however registration is required.  2nd Annual Open Juried Show by Gloucester Arts on Main

The 2nd Annual Open Juried Art Show will be taking place from April 5 @ 6:00 pm through April 27 @ 8:00 pm. Over 150 submissions were entered and judged by Jennifer Morningstar, Gallery Manager of the Charles Taylor Visual Arts Center, with 58 pieces selected for the show. The winners will receive the following:

1st Place – $300 plus a future Solo Show at Arts on Main
2nd Place – $200
3rd Place – $100
 
The opening is on April 5th from 6pm-8pm and is free and open to the public, with beer, wine and paninis available.
